Khyber Restaurant

Khyber Restaurant was envisioned as a destination that celebrates authenticity, atmosphere, and craftsmanship. The concept draws from regional architectural references and decorative traditions, translating them into a warm and elevated dining environment that feels both culturally expressive and operationally refined.

The interior is defined by a strong sense of identity. Arched openings, carved detailing, textured wall finishes, patterned screens, timber beams, decorative lanterns, handcrafted motifs, and earthy material tones come together to create a space that feels layered, immersive, and memorable. Every element was carefully considered to evoke a sense of place while supporting the expectations of a premium hospitality setting.

The main challenge was to create a restaurant with a strong thematic identity without compromising sophistication or functionality. The space needed to capture the richness of traditional influences while remaining elegant, comfortable, and relevant to a contemporary hospitality audience in Dubai.

Another key challenge was ensuring consistency across the full guest journey. From arrival and circulation to private dining and main seating areas, the restaurant needed to offer a cohesive experience while maintaining variety, intimacy, and visual interest throughout the space.

Our approach focused on building an environment that feels authentic, atmospheric, and highly curated. The design language was developed around architectural rhythm and ornamentation, using arches, columns, lattice-inspired partitions, decorative ceiling treatments, and layered lighting to establish depth and character across the restaurant.

Materiality played a central role in shaping the mood of the project. Natural stone, richly toned timber, patterned flooring, warm metallic finishes, and handcrafted decorative elements were combined to create a tactile and inviting setting. The palette reinforces the restaurant’s cultural inspiration while giving the interior a timeless and premium quality.

Khyber Restaurant was realized as a destination dining space with a distinct and memorable identity. The project reflects CK’s ability to design and deliver hospitality interiors that balance storytelling, operational functionality, and elevated guest experience, transforming concept into a fully built environment with depth and character.
