Casa del Mar is a residence in La Mer, Dubai, created in collaboration with NK for an end-user client. Conceived as a contemporary seaside home, the project balances elegance and ease, combining architectural clarity with warm, carefully layered interiors and a resort-like outdoor setting.
The core idea of the project through the word “harmony,” describing Casa del Mar as a place where different elements come together in a consistent and pleasing arrangement, integrated into the lifestyle of its inhabitants. It also describes the interior as an eclectic meeting point where different tastes are brought together into one unified whole.
The main challenge was to shape a house of substantial scale into something that still felt relaxed, personal, and livable for an end-user. The program is extensive, combining formal entertaining spaces with intimate family areas, a rich wellness and leisure basement, multiple bedroom suites, roof-level amenities, and a fully developed outdoor living environment.
The spatial program from the concept deck includes a basement with bar and entertainment area, pool area, spa, cinema, and back-of-house spaces; a ground floor with formal living, formal dining, family living, family dining, office, show kitchen, and guest suite; a first floor with master suite, five additional bedrooms, and pajama lounge; and a roof floor with lounge, bathroom, and gym.
This meant the design had to do more than look luxurious. It needed to connect formal and informal living, indoor and outdoor experiences, privacy and entertainment, while keeping the overall atmosphere cohesive and calm.
Our approach was to build the project around the idea of harmonized luxury — a home where architecture, interior detailing, and landscape all support one another. The concept palette reinforces this direction through a sophisticated mix of steel blue, traffic grey, pearl orange, olive green, sepia brown, and signal white, introducing warmth and individuality without losing balance.
Inside, the project combines grand entertaining spaces with softer family-oriented rooms. The formal living areas were developed as bright, expansive spaces with large-scale seating and statement chandeliers, while the family spaces adopt a more relaxed tone through warmer flooring, softer furniture compositions, and intimate planning.
The lower ground level adds a strong lifestyle dimension to the project. Rather than being purely functional, it was designed as a destination in itself, incorporating a bar area, entertainment lounge, indoor pool, spa, steam room, experience shower, cinema, and wellness-focused spaces. These features give the residence a private hospitality feel, turning the basement into an immersive leisure level rather than a secondary floor.
The landscape concept extends that same sensibility outdoor and introduces features such as sunken seating with fire pit, shallow water zones, sculptural elements, custom pool signage, pergola-covered lounge areas, BBQ settings, and an outdoor cinema concept.
What makes Casa del Mar especially compelling is the way these interior and exterior ideas reinforce one another. The project is not simply a luxury villa with a landscaped garden; it is conceived as a full residential experience where leisure, entertaining, and daily living flow together seamlessly.
Casa del Mar emerges as a refined coastal residence defined by harmony, comfort, and a highly curated lifestyle. Its strength lies not in one dramatic gesture alone, but in the way every layer — architecture, interiors, wellness, entertainment, and landscape — is orchestrated into a unified experience.
For an end-user client, that makes the project especially meaningful. It is designed not just as a statement home, but as a complete living environment: elegant enough for entertaining, calm enough for everyday life, and rich enough in amenities to feel like a private resort on the Dubai waterfront.
